- Write down the main reason for coming and when the problems started.
- Bring a list of all medications, supplements and known allergies.
- Finally, repeat in your own words what the next step is.
Before arrival
The preparation does not have to be long. On one page, write down the symptoms, their course, what aggravates or relieves them and how they affect your daily life. Add previous diagnoses, procedures and important family illnesses.
If you have findings from another institution, bring them chronologically. Do not interrupt prescribed therapy for an examination unless specifically told otherwise by a healthcare professional.
- a list of medications with dosages and times of administration
- allergies and previous adverse reactions
- the most important issues, ranked by priority
- contact person who can help you if necessary
During the conversation
Tell us what is most important for you to clarify today. If you do not understand a medical term, ask for an explanation in simple terms. Questions about benefits, risks and alternatives help to make a decision together.
Before leaving, check who you are contacting, within what time frame, what you are monitoring at home and which signs require earlier contact.
After review
Save instructions and results in one place. If the recommendation differs from what you understood at the examination, contact the doctor's office instead of changing the therapy yourself.
